 Malaria

Malaria is caused by parasites called Plasmodium falciparum. These parasites enter the body via mosquito bites and cause fever, chills, headache, vomiting, and muscle pain. Symptoms may last for several days. There are four individual types of malaria: falciparum, vivax, ovale, and knowlesi.

 Dengue Fever

Dengue fever is caused by viruses. It causes high fever, severe headaches, joint pains, and skin rashes. There are no specific treatments for dengue fever; however, rest and fluids are recommended.


 Typhoid Fever

Typhoid fever is due to bacteria called Salmonella typhi. It causes a high fever, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and headaches. Antibiotics can treat typhoid fever.


 Chikungunya

Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes. It causes fever, joint pain, and headaches. There is no cure for chikungunya, but symptoms usually go away after two weeks.


 Yellow Fever

Yellow fever is a viral infection that occurs in tropical regions. It causes high fevers, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes), fatigue, and abdominal pain. There is no vaccine for yellow fever.


 Influenza

Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness due to influenza viruses. It causes fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and routine aches. There is no cure or vaccine for influenza.
